One of the first films I saw that really captured me, Gremlins is without a doubt an all-time classic. A pioneer of the horror comedy, this film blew me away as a kid. I desperately wanted a mogwai of my own and would never have broken the rules to their ownership. (No bright light, no water, don't feed after midnight) Gizmo was the most adorable Christmas present ever received on film, and just because Billy screwed it up and unleashed a hoard of monsters on his town (the poor old lady in the chairlift...), shouldn't mean that other, more responsible kids couldn't have one. But no. Apparently that Christmas, and all subsequent ones to an extent, would be ruined. I guess I will have to stick to rewatching this film every year instead. There are worse ways to spend the holidays.
