Jonathan Robert

Jonathan loves comic books and he loves coffee. Jonathan’s mother gave him his first taste of coffee at the tender age of 3 and it was love at first sip. He now needs to wheel around an IV drip of caffeine at all times or else he turns into a dark, monstrous creature that feeds on despair and makes babies cry. The local village-folk have kept him locked away ever since the “decaf catastrophe of ‘06.” When allowed out of his dungeon, he writes various articles for Geekade, including the monthly column, “Welcome to the D-List,” and records the "Mutant Musings" podcast with his geek-tastic girlfriend, Patti.

except for shaw (cause there are two of them) just saying blaze and cortes is fine especially cortes. thats all they called him in the animated series and mostly in the comics. fabian cortes is no jean grey or emma frost. and yeah i didnt like all the deaths in these comics. sunspot (maybe?) and shinobi sigh bring back the upstarts!

in order to be an otter bobby would need some fur, otter’s are like prenatal cubs lol they have very little hair but they do have it on their face or legs/arms. bobby is as smooth as a baby’s bottom and thin. TWINK ALL DAY

i guess, it depends on the artist and your definition of “skinny”. to me bobby is a thin/skinny guy with defined muscles which still makes him a twink to me. twunk isnt a part of my vocab lol but whatever floats your boat lol

candra’s powers (from memory so there might be more to it) she is an uber telekine, maybe even more powerful then jean. definitely phoenix level. she usually uses it as big blasts of red tk energy but she can also manipulate the molecules in objects (clothing) to change them like jean did as phoenix or even a person’s dna to give or take away powers. thats how the assassins’ guild got their powers, from candra. read the rogue mini series from the 90s and also x-men unlimited 7. a great storm story (with her sister jean) as they go to cairo to take down candra and we get a lot of flashbacks. and THATS WHAT I WAS SAYING lol the whole time im reading mr. and mrs. x im like “why isnt he mumbling and they are going “do you have something in your mouth”” cool visual but he should have just used the one to get out and then use the chains and other things around the house to fight. it was so not necessary lol

lol im with patty again. i cant with legion. so glad its the last season. this episode sums up everything wrong with the show: it tries too hard. it was all cool in the first season but not it just comes off as pretentious and they are TRYING to be thought provoking and cerebrial instead of just NATURALLY being that. it wasnt even as confusing as season one and i was so lost. like thank you for the asian representation and the mandarin and japanese but………..thats all i got. i had to watch an breakdown of season 2 cause i completely erased it from my mind. i know they are trying to keep the show “ageless” by not telling us a year but they could give me “3 years later” title card.

i didnt cheer but so glad to see #notmystique bit the dust. if she would have died in the space portion of the film i.e. SOONER i would have definitely cheered. i so dont get the brainwashing lawrence has done to america but its never worked on me. CANT ACT! there is a reason she hasnt a hit in years……………….outside of that i really loved the film! i cheered when jean kicked the x-men’s ass at her home especially with quicksilver lol sis was like “nope! not today silver devil” and her battles with xavier and magneto and her end battle and her getting the phoenix force SIGH so good! sophie did a great job not just as jean but as this character. that scene with her in the alley in the rain wiping the blood off? OSCAR! GIVE HER ALL THE AWARDS! could have done without magneto, more cyclops, less lawrence but other than that no complaints. it ended the way it was meant to end: jean as the hero, sacrificing herself to save the people she loves. and using the d’bari as the antagonists? GREAT HOMAGE! only die hard x-ers would get that reference. 9/10, best movie of the year (to be fair i dont watch a lot of new movies) and its my new favorite x-men film. cant wait for the dvd!

Glad you liked it so much! I wish we could have seen more of a semi-normal Jean before the Phoenix, because they never gave me enough to really care about her other than a sad childhood event. I barely remember Apocalypse but she had little characterization in that movie so I felt like it would have been nice to see both sides of her more. Haha I thought it was kind of sad that they were made to be antagonists in the movie lol but again, we didn’t get to know them enough here. So regardless of the complaints I still enjoyed it and I’m happy to see someone who loved the movie because I don’t think it deserved the hate that it got *shrugs*

though i prefer the 90s x-men, x-men evolution is a great show. i didnt get into for some years cause of all of the changes and the self hatred of depicted of nightcrawler but because of that show and the x-movies im good with different interpretations as long as they are good and get the characters essence right
