Jonathan Robert

Jonathan loves comic books and he loves coffee. Jonathan’s mother gave him his first taste of coffee at the tender age of 3 and it was love at first sip. He now needs to wheel around an IV drip of caffeine at all times or else he turns into a dark, monstrous creature that feeds on despair and makes babies cry. The local village-folk have kept him locked away ever since the “decaf catastrophe of ‘06.” When allowed out of his dungeon, he writes various articles for Geekade, including the monthly column, “Welcome to the D-List,” and records the "Mutant Musings" podcast with his geek-tastic girlfriend, Patti.

florida man? awwww you guys named this episode after me? arent you sweet! lol jokes aside gald to have you guys back! you always put a smile on my face and a laugh in my heart. best antidepressant i’ve come across for sure!
as for gorgon: yeah i dont remember him from wolverine either but i havent read all his comics and try to keep him (loserine) out of my mind lol. i know gorgon from avengers and avengers adjacent comics (secret warriors), had no idea he was a mutant. just thought magic based the Hand dude ala elektra. love they gave magik such a high position. loved the council meeting though i disagree with the outcome. the deeds that sabretooth did, which is the same for all the villains that are members of the council, were done BEFORE the rules were created so in fairness he shouldnt be punished when 1. the rules didnt exist 2. the other people who did the same thing werent punished either. i HATE hypocrisy. we got to d better. yeah it was done as a symbolic jester of “this is what will happen if you fuck up” but since no one outside of the council saw/know this happened: whats the point!? but i love legal stuff and courtroom drama and royal intrigue so this was right up my alley.

That’s…a great point about Sabretooth! Still, they were just using him as an example, and I’m sure the years of him being a horrible, horrible person made that easier on the council.

ITS not just you john. i’ve heard nothing but bad things about claremont over the years. how he hates every x-men story he didnt write and his x-men are the real x-men and if its not done the way he would have done it he doesnt accept it (hence me not being surprised why he doesnt like hoxpox). this is all hearsay, never witnessed this myself but i’ve heard this from several people, men and women, from different parts of the country who dont know each other. where there’s smoke there’s fire……….doesnt mean he’s a bad guy but its not unique. i’ve seen a lot of creative people be snooty/self-absorb with their craft “my way is the only way and every other way is wrong” kinda deal. night vision goggles been around since the 40s so they were there in the 80s. plus its comics which has all this super science going on and alien advanced tech. surely someone like reed or the shiar would have night vision goggles even if they didnt exist for regular folks. QUESTION FOR PATTI: what made you decide to start reading up on hellcat? just didnt have the time or just got into the character? love patsy, such a great character in defenders and her solo series(es??) cause she’s had a few lol. Dont know if sharon died but i know the guy (john???) did pop up in generation x for a few issues without her (around the issue 40+ era when they opened the school’s doors for humans to join cause no money!)

Really?! I’ve heard nothing but GOOD things about people talking to him! But I’m glad I’m not alone. Haha I knew night vision goggles were around before the 80s and I didn’t realize until it was too late that it didn’t come off as a joke XD I’ll get you Patti’s answers soon! Thanks for listening!
