Social Stuff

Jonathan Robert

Jonathan loves comic books and he loves coffee. Jonathan’s mother gave him his first taste of coffee at the tender age of 3 and it was love at first sip. He now needs to wheel around an IV drip of caffeine at all times or else he turns into a dark, monstrous creature that feeds on despair and makes babies cry. The local village-folk have kept him locked away ever since the “decaf catastrophe of ‘06.” When allowed out of his dungeon, he writes various articles for Geekade, including the monthly column, “Welcome to the D-List,” and records the "Mutant Musings" podcast with his geek-tastic girlfriend, Patti.

I think it would be great to see live action or animated – it was so full of heart. Also his Punisher was dope, and I’m not much of a Punisher guy. Good every once in a while I think, and his volume was good.

actually that made the joke funny cause it so was not lol messing it up made me laugh so hard! loved all three issues. x-men, marauders and excalibur in that order. and like you i didnt dig excalibur that much cause of all the complaining BUT pete wisdom save the issue. he is a great character and if piotr cant have her then pete wisdom should marry kate! read the mini pryde and wisdom plus excalibur plus his run on x-force when he led the team. he taught boom boom (nee meltdown) how to use her powers in more creative ways since they both have powers revolving around manipulation of plasma. she could shoot energy blasts, fly via jet propusion and create hot knives, pete wisdom’s signature move. new mutants: great art but meh story. i had no idea that was armor til they said her name. im like is this jubilee or a new character? i just couldnt connect with the story and i was disappointed this was the WHOLE issue and we got no new mutants with deathbird. the whole thing just felt out of place. they should have waited til the first arc was over before doing this in my opinion. would be a nice little filler arc before we get to the next arc with the main characters

I think rotating the cast and story is weird and have no idea if they’re going to coincide. It’s such a weird choice and I haven’t seen it done in a comic before (but maybe it has). I love both teams and wish I could see it in two books. Old Excalibur stuff is something I’m gonna have to get around to…one day. But I’ve seen some people hate on Pete Wisdom and maybe I’ll find out why!

yeah i didnt know that was a thing til a few weeks ago. the power of living off the grid for 35 years lol. from what i can see they say the character’s personality isnt original, he’s just john constantine without the magic but i disagree. they also said his creator warren ellis just based the character on himself so i guess if you hate constantine ripoffs and warren ellis you will hate pete too lol. but there are so many rough pessimistic cockney british dude characters out there, having that one aspect in common dont mean they are all the same. same with all characters that are peppy or stoic. that personality type wasnt my forte but his relationship with kitty is what helped me to see pass his rough exterior. kitty loves ya so you cant be all bad right?
