Why I Love Wrestling: Seth Rollins… again

My friends, and I feel like we are at the point now… you know… where we can be honest, I have some horrible, terrible, no good, very bad news. Seth Rollins, your WWE World Heavyweight Champion, is… well he’s not dead but he is injured. Like really injured.

Knees don't do that...
Knees don’t do that…

Like torn MCL/ACL/PCL injured. Which is really fucking unfortunate. Not just for us, the fans. And not just for Seth Rollins either. But for WWE as a whole. Any time the world champ gets injured it’s bad. This injury in particular will keep Seth out for six to nine months. He joins a list of injured/out WWE performers that could headline a PPV. John Cena, Randy Orton, Daniel Bryan, Hideo Itami, Sami Zayn, Sting, Tyson Kidd, and Rusev are all on the shelf. And WWE has done a terrible job of building new stars over the last few years. There will be a tournament held at Survivor Series this year to determine a new champion. Which is a golden opportunity to push someone to the moon. Someone like Cesaro. But this isn’t about the future. This is about Seth freaking Rollins.

Seth Rollins has been on fire this year. His promos have been stellar. His work rate has been off the charts. His matches have been top of the card every time out. He has really been the best thing about WWE this year. And when he comes back he is going to be just about the biggest babyface ever. So take a few minutes and check out the videos below. Watch a man at the height of his craft. His matches against Dean Ambrose were amazing. His matches against John Cena were better than anything else on the card. He gave Sting the best match of his more recent career. It’s been a joy to watch. And then get super sad that you won’t see it for the next nine months. Dan Ryan

Dan Ryan was once the most feared and respected luchador in the world until the "Great DDT Disaster of '85" where Dan unfortunately DDT'd his opponent so hard into the ground that he opened a gate to the underworld that let unholy things into this world. After that, Dan refused to wrestle anymore but he's found new life writing and talking about his favorite hobbies here at Geekade. He pens the weekly Why I Love Wrestling series, co-hosts The Stone Age Gamer Podcast, expertly pairs video games with beer, and much, much more. Dan is a personality that Geekade simply would not be the same without.
