Jonathan Robert

Jonathan loves comic books and he loves coffee. Jonathan’s mother gave him his first taste of coffee at the tender age of 3 and it was love at first sip. He now needs to wheel around an IV drip of caffeine at all times or else he turns into a dark, monstrous creature that feeds on despair and makes babies cry. The local village-folk have kept him locked away ever since the “decaf catastrophe of ‘06.” When allowed out of his dungeon, he writes various articles for Geekade, including the monthly column, “Welcome to the D-List,” and records the "Mutant Musings" podcast with his geek-tastic girlfriend, Patti.

did i love fallen angels? no. did i enjoy it? no but it had its moments and the last issue was done really well. i dont know if its just because im happy its over but i felt satisfied by the way it ended (i also speed/skip read it so…..). psylocke grew butterfly wings, setup her teaming up with sinister, her final goodbye to laura PLUS her coming to terms with who she is as a person was all good to me. and i love poetry so i’ve appreciated those data pages.
new mutants was a good issue, my problem isnt the book but the twins and how no one is scared of them. since the first issue of this arc we have seen their recklessness with their powers from mentioning to hisako “take us with you cause we can manipulate peoples minds”, to them killing humans (first rule of krakoa) to them manipulating beak’s and his family’s minds. its like a kid with sticky fingers and the parents just keep saying “dont steal” everything they steal. uhm its been done five times and they havent changed so……..new rule! there is an old saying “doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result is the definition of insanity” time to get out that belt okasan! and i totally agree with patty about how the twins are coming off as serial killers/villains in the making. time will tell i guess. that being said, their evil doings made this issue, it caused all the conflict and sadness for me. x-men was such a great issue! finally got synch back! more info on the vault! in super novas it was always super confusing to me but now its super clear i just dont know who created it but whatevers. i so want to see an issue of them just being in the vault and the data page here was so great! x-force……..sigh jean and beast, the ogs SLAY. it was a tough decision but because of beast and jean x-force is my favorite of this batch of x-books. the stuff they setup with the plant people is going to be so good! and next issue is tricky mystique! so that is the order in which i enjoyed these books from least to greatest

Glad you liked the end of FA! I really liked last week’s X-Books. And also hope more than this one note we’ve been getting from Maxime and Manon. I feel like X-Force has been good, but this issue was amazing. Marauders is still the #1 title for me, but maybe just barely.

i read that comment laura made to logan as “this is a suicide mission and you sending us in but not your precious who has the same survival powers and more experience than all three of us put together? what the fuck. why arent you going old man?”

Yeah someone thought she was joking…? I didn’t read it that way. Also – she’s one to ask for help? Since when? It’s usually begrudgingly. So…it was all weird to me. But it happened. Woot.

i had two zunes and love them. would still have my zune hd if i didnt get mugged. had the first generation and then sold it and used that cash to help pay for the zune hd (both hot pink of course) and they lasted for HOURS, enough for me. like 8 hours which is all i need. i can walk to the park and dance a few hours and walk home and still have like 40-50% energy left. music doesnt drain the battery that much, especially if the wifi is off. its the video feature that drains it like…….something being drained really fast. going to get me a new one (not zune cause since they are extinct its like hundreds of dollars) but saw some for under 30 bucks on amazon. this too expensive side phone i’ve been using for the past 3 years as an mp3 player has no battery life. has to be plugged in when turned on or power is at 50% or less and it immediately drops from 100 percent to 60 within 40 minutes of playing music. past time to upgrade

I wish it never happened to you or at least wish we were there to castrate those people and curse out the cops.

the day i go see hamilton (fabulous by the way) is the day you do a spotlight on dazzler……..KISMET! she is one of the best mutants (not in my top five but definitely in my top 10). as a singer i really related to her as a kid. my family too discouraged me from persuing a career in the arts and though i dont have it as bad as dazzler i’ve had those days where i ate nothing or only had an apple or nuts to eat. and hey, if its good for spiderman its good for us mutants lol. i just realized how much of a hypocrite i am. i couldnt get into spiderman cause he is a loser. “im a super smart scientist and the only way i figured out a way to be a super hero is to suffer with a low paying freelance gig, have no food in the fridge and my rent always late. but im a genuis!” like no bro. you better mr. fantastic that shit out! or clark kent it out! but with dazzler it never bothered me. the only thing i was irritated with her about is her rejecting the x-men. “girl you can live at a mansion for FREE, learn to control your powers and in your free time pursue your singing career. being an x-man isnt a prison. you can come and go as you please” but i guess being bias cause she’s a mutant and a singer i was like “well she’s following her dream and has to do it on her own so she’s suffering for craft, its a noble endeaver”

I think Spider-Man has made some money in recent years though…? But I agree with you about him. I just think it’s funny that Dazzler wanted to reject superheroics but superheroics found her anyway. I think it’s great too that she has so many vocal fans who are almost universally positive – not like fans of certain other characters…

nah, he’s broke again. writers come in and always want to revert him to his suffering days cause thats how they like him. in the early 2000s when he was an avenger he became a teacher so steady income and then moved into stark tower so definitely wasnt going hungry, then one more day happen and went back to status quo. then doc ock took over his body and invented all this new tech and peter came back and now he was a billionaire. then his company went bankrupt now he’s poor and hungry again! been living with two roommates (his name isnt on the lease just moved in with his friend) with no job so no money and is going to school and since he has no job thats why they got a third roommate. where he is getting money from is beyond me lol i mean aunt may is married to a rich dude (j. jonah’s dad) so maybe they were helping him out so he can focus on school? but its back to the old “pete you need to cover your half of the rent”. he literally just started working again last week at the daily bugle……..freelance lol oh marvel. its like with x-men, they make progress and are seen as cool and heroes and then a new writer comes along and goes “not my x-men” and now everyone hates them again
