Why I Love Wrestling: Match of the Year 005 – Hiroshi Tanahashi vs Shinsuke Nakamura

For our fifth match of the year contender we again take a look at Shinsuke Nakamura. This guy is doing amazing work. He is having classics at every major event in NJPW and if he is not on your radar yet, he should be. Hiroshi Tanahashi is no slouch either, having put in great work this year as well. This match, the final from the 2015 version of the G1 Climax tournament, is one of the finest pro wrestling matches I have ever seen. Nakamura and Tanahashi put on a damn clinic for 32 minutes. It had everything you could possibly want in a wrestling match, drama/action/great crowd/etc. If you aren’t watching NJPW, you should be. Their streaming service is less than ten bucks and worth every penny. Hit me up on twitter, @geekadedan, and let me know what you thought of this match. We have five very strong contenders for MOTY with one more on the way. It’s been a phenomenal year so far with a few more events to go. Might we get another contender? Check us out right here each and every week to find out.

Dan Ryan

Dan Ryan was once the most feared and respected luchador in the world until the "Great DDT Disaster of '85" where Dan unfortunately DDT'd his opponent so hard into the ground that he opened a gate to the underworld that let unholy things into this world. After that, Dan refused to wrestle anymore but he's found new life writing and talking about his favorite hobbies here at Geekade. He pens the weekly Why I Love Wrestling series, co-hosts The Stone Age Gamer Podcast, expertly pairs video games with beer, and much, much more. Dan is a personality that Geekade simply would not be the same without.
