Geekade’s Scariest Moments: A Nightmare on Elm Street 3
I was born the same year as Michael Jackson’s Thriller. My mom used to put the video on when I was unhappy or being a brat because it was the only thing that calmed me down. I still love it to this day. I also used to watch horror movies at my aunt’s house. Occasionally, my mom would let me watch one at home, once she got over thinking that they would scar me for life. She thought Cujo would make me afraid of dogs, (It didn’t). But she was right in one instance. Nightmare on Elm Street 3.
Now I watch it and laugh but when I was younger, one particular scene disturbed me for years. It was the scene where Puppet Freddy comes to life and cuts out this kid’s veins and walks him around like a puppet. Freddy eventually makes the kid fall to his death when he cuts the kids “strings”. After seeing that scene, I could not sleep on my back for years. I always had to sleep on my side. I was so scared that Freddy was going to make a puppet out of me.
