Pokemon Propitiation: Day 555

It’s been 132 days since my last entry. And yes, I’m still doing this.

They sure did.
They sure did.

Here’s what’s been going on. After much internal struggle, I went ahead and decided to purchase the 3DS version of Pokemon Blue and start from scratch. This way I could get together with some other friends and use that wireless communication I’ve been hearing so much about and get the “whole” Pokemon experience. Except that darn procrastination thing happened again, and I haven’t played the game since I bought it. See, I kind of got stuck on a Kid Icarus kick recently, and couldn’t stop myself from playing and beating the first 2 games in the series over and over. I think I beat each one 3 times back to back to back by playing a little each night. But this eventually made me realize that I hadn’t played Kid Icarus: Uprising since it’s launch, and that is a damn shame.

Well worth a second playthrough. Sorry, Squirtle!
Well worth a second playthrough. Sorry, Squirtle!

So, since I consider myself a pretty big Kid Icarus fan, I decided that I needed to finish Kid Icarus: Uprising a second time before I got around to anything else. In case you didn’t already know, Kid Icarus: Uprising is many things. Two of which are awesome and surprisingly long. But I’m almost done, and between that and some casual BoxBoy sessions, I’m about ready to restart my Pokemon Quest and double down on my efforts. When I dive back into Pokemon, it will be with a renewed fervor. A hopeful outlook. And most interestingly, a fiery passion to complete what I have now decided is only the first part of my task.

My next mission
My next mission

The point of this article series is for me to gain an appreciation for Pokemon, and I believe that playing the first game in the series is only part of the story. So I now have a deadline to finish Blue, and that is before the release of Pokemon Sun and Moon. Yes, after I finish playing the original, I’m going to dive into the newest one and see how far the series has come. I haven’t decided which version I’m getting, and the official release date hasn’t been announced, but I’m going to do it, darn it! So, if all goes according to plan, I will have started the 3DS version of Pokemon Blue by next month’s entry, and will be on track to finish it before the impending release of Sun and Moon. Can I do it? I guess there’s only one way to find out.

Catch up on the mission so far!
