Whovians have all been wishing for a T.A.R.D.I.S. of their own to whisk them from last Christmas to next Saturday. And for those of us not as lucky as Clara and the Doctor, the wait is almost over. We’ve had a full series of episodes to get used to 12 and we’ve witnessed something of a transformation in Clara. The nature of her finale departure and her change of heart in the Christmas special leave me especially curious as to how she and 12 will relate in the wake of those events.

Good Grammar Saves Lives

The English language is slowly disintegrating.

This is not a new thing. With the advent of the Internet and the ubiquity of texting, both good things to be sure, written language has gotten the short end of the stick. The immediacy of written communication has made the speed of composition more important than the accuracy of what is composed. Twitter threw a major wrench in the works and/or was a godsend for communication, depending on what side you’re on. By limiting the character count of a post, it legitimized the use of single letters to represent words, abbreviations, and acronyms in written communication.

Stage vs. Screen: Into the Woods

A tale of two different forests.

Disney recently released their adaptation of Sondheim’s beloved Into the Woods in digital format, allowing a giant musical theater geek such as myself the opportunity to check it out. The catch? The box of programs from plays and musicals  I’ve seen and/or been involved in at the high school, college, community theater, and professional levels somehow does not include one from this play.
