PITAthon 2019: TWEPcast vs. Cuphead

Meanwhile, in the world of Cuphead, Nurse Pretendo is finds herself fixing a familiar foible…

Yup, we’re tackling Cuphead.

This one’s been requested a couple times lately, and we’ve decided it’s time to take on one of the coolest-looking pattern-recognition shooters in town, the delightfully stylish Cuphead.

WHEN:

Saturday, August 10th from 12pm-2pm

Who will be playing:

Cuphead is a game heavily rooted in cartoon history, so it’s only natural that the game be played by two cast members from Geekade’s TV podcast, This Week’s Episode. Evan Goldstein and Angela Fernot will be taking the roles of Cuphead and Mugman to try and get through as much of the game as possible in just 2 hours. Neither of them have very much experience with the game either, so it’s probably going to be a pretty entertaining spectacle to watch.

Why it’s a pain in the ass:

Much like Contra before it, Cuphead is all about pattern recognition. Most of the game plays out as a series of boss battles that may seem impossible at first glance, but after some trial and error, it becomes clear exactly what you’re supposed to do. Actually executing it is another story entirely. The game’s gorgeous, which can be distracting, but it rarely ventures outside the realm of “tough but fair.” It’s another 2 player co-op adventure too, and those are always fun.

That’s all for today. Check back next week for our next game announcement, and a fresh Nurse Pretendo adventure!!!
