Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark: Introduction

As a kid, some of my fondest memories include sitting around with my best friends, trying my very hardest to scare the crap out of them. We would sit in candle-lit rooms or around campfires telling tales of monsters and maniacs waiting just outside the light, lurking in the shadows where we couldn’t see them. That feeling of not knowing whether or not someone or some…thing was waiting to grab us, is what made those nights so very memorable. At the age of 8 or so, I discovered this, and I haven’t been the same since. This book, Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark, had a profound effect on me and millions of other kids for years now, so we here at Geekade have decided to dedicate this year’s 31 Days of Halloween to reading the book cover to cover for you to enjoy.

Every day in October, we will post a new chapter from this legendary book as read by different Geekade personalities. The people behind The Stone Age Gamer Podcast, This Week’s Episode, Non-Stop Comic Shop, You Shall Not Pass Go, Mutant Musings, Before Their Time, WaveBack, and more have lent their vocal stylings to creating some wonderfully chilling readings of the stories that probably kept you awake as a kid. It all starts today with This Week’s Episode’s  Evan Goldstein (aka. Me) reading the book’s introduction. Welcome to Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark
