Jonathan Robert

Jonathan loves comic books and he loves coffee. Jonathan’s mother gave him his first taste of coffee at the tender age of 3 and it was love at first sip. He now needs to wheel around an IV drip of caffeine at all times or else he turns into a dark, monstrous creature that feeds on despair and makes babies cry. The local village-folk have kept him locked away ever since the “decaf catastrophe of ‘06.” When allowed out of his dungeon, he writes various articles for Geekade, including the monthly column, “Welcome to the D-List,” and records the "Mutant Musings" podcast with his geek-tastic girlfriend, Patti.

Never apologize for wanting pizza hut. Sometimes if the craving is bad enough, people will do and say crazy things. I know, I’ve been there! The Kitchen certainly does look interesting and I hope you enjoy, but we already have sooooo many movies to catch up on. Like Venom, Aquaman, Shazam….ugh…

AGREE! its an X-Book not a 10-Book. he’s weapon X not weapon 10, so…..POWERS OF X! PERIODT! im the same way. im more of a writer so i can “talk” a lot online but in real life? pretty quiet. but boo kyle is a human telethon. only two ways to shut him up and both require a bed………..sleeping! im talking sleeping! keep your heads out of the gutter..wait thats only one…..your first answer was right lol. ooh patti the daredevil. i’d read that book. havent been on a scooter since i was kid and seeing as a crashed…its a good thing for us all. “uncanny x-men 22. it was definitely a comic” – patti, august 2019. i just took it as emma was flipping her hair over to the side to cover up the bald spot. it was first done as a dramatic reveal to the army guy that she did the surgery but hey each perspective is valid. wasnt anger but yeah like i told you guys on twitter that kiss made no sense to happen. they both had closure when each died (when jean died at the end of morrison’s run for cyclops; when phoenix brought back cyclops in return of jean grey to say goodbye) but not even a hello or an “oh my god you are alive” from either one of them just jean sauntering up to him all jessica rabbit like and claiming her man. but hey it worked. we are talking about it a month later so………..for the most part i liked the series but you can tell it was RUSHED in the last 2-3 issues but there was a lot of good in it. i cant say something is horrible when there is at least SOME good in it.

I would have felt safer pushing her in the wheelchair haha. Yeah…dramatic reveal…I do get that. But it looked silly to me. Totally agree about Scott and Jean, and also about seeing some good in the run, which I could only do after it was all over.

LOVED! HOX, i have a creepy feeling you are right about them being pod people (dont know about xavier being sinister though sinister is a shapeshifter and telepath so he could fake it but i dont want it to be true and dont get that from him). i just think its xavier who is taking his dream to the next step. he tried for so many years to do it the “lets work with humans” way and it never worked. he went on a walkabout since he came back from the grave and shadow king was in his head so those two things would give him a new perspective, so still wanting peace, still wanting to protect mutants “ALL mutants, no matter who you are, come to this island and lets live in peace BUT humans we want you to acknowledge us as a soverign state and we will be a part of the world”. with their tech and powers they didnt have to ever let the humans know they did this or where they live or to offer them anything. i know i wouldnt it. create my secret paradise for my people and we just keep to ourselves, only way to be sure the cure and sentinels and all the other evil human shit they did doesnt happen to us again. so my perspective is, xavier isnt being dark at all when it comes to creating a mutant country cause he is STILL working with humans and within human laws. “we will give you cheap labor america, sell our chinese products” same thing the x-men are doing. and i was one of those jezzie people on twitter. i was freaking out! nothing happened? all these people are back from the dead, all mutants are working together as one (#mutantandproud), the characters that were in it, the conversations on setting up a government, etc etc. and to be fair i do read hickman (east of west, avengers, fantastic four) no complaints from him so far. he is no kieron gillen (my favorite writer) but he gets the job down and he makes me think. now powers of x: didnt hate it, didnt like it. no emotional connection for me despite them having the whole sisterly love with cylobel and rasputin but there was a lot of interesting things laid out. love the history/time travel element, the chimeras, etc etc. bain is gunter bain. i had to look this up: its unus the untouchable. apparently he legally changed his name. so not only can she phase and metal up but she has force field powers. its like she was made to be a tank/defensive hero

RIGHT! UNUS! DAMMIT lol I saw Gunter Bain and was like…shit! FORCE FIELD XD To each their own, but I get such a dark vibe because the tension is so high. Xavier is acting creepy, even “evil” mutants are standing beside him, ambassadors to major nations are worried about the military implications of the gateway system and Magneto told humans you have new gogds so humanity is already preparing a doomsday scenario. There was so much contrast between beauty and darkness in the art in the book too I think.
