Welcome to Geekade’s 31 Days of Halloween 2018

Welcome back to Geekade’s 31 Days of Halloween! Each year, we here at Geekade like to take the month of October and fill it with a little something spooky/Halloween-related each and every day. For the first day of this extravaganza, we thought it might be fun to take a look back at some highlights from previous years. Let’s take a spooky stroll down memory lane, shall we?

His name is Simon Quest.

One of the best/worst ideas we’ve ever had here at Geekade was recording dramatic readings of the awful Worlds of Power books. They’re novelizations of classic Nintendo games, and they’re just incredibly terrible. Back in 2016, Matt Raimo performed Castlevania II: Simon’s Quest and it was, well, terrifying. Click here to figure out why.

WaveBack gets Spooky!

For as long as Geekade’s been doing 31 Days of Halloween, the WaveBack Podcast has been following suit. In case you don’t know, WaveBack is a podcast about video game music, so each year Kris and co. gather together some of the best spooky music the video game world has to offer. Before this year’s all-new Spooky Special IV premieres on Halloween, take a trip back to the horrific sounds of video game soundtracks past!

Macabre Movie Mausoleum

Alex Azar is one of our resident horror experts, and last year he decided to do weekly Friday the 13th movie reviews. Do these flicks stand the test of time? Dr. Azarrising knows!

Halloween is all about Candy!

For the past 2 years, Kris Randazzo and Jon Heacock have taken a slightly different approach to creating content for 31 Days of Halloween. Instead of concentrating on the spooky, they focused on the sweet, because candy is as much a part of Halloween as the scary stuff, right? This is their pair of top ten lists wherein they determine what the best candy is.

Geekade reads Scary Stories

Last year we not only filled our calendar with spooky podcasts and articles, but we all gathered together to read the entire book “Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark.” This haunted children’s book has been giving kids nightmares for generations, and as fans, we did our very best to do them proud.

This year’s got a whole lot more in store for you, so be sure to check back each and every day this month for more fresh, spooky, original content. Happy October, everyone!
